Kirsch Group President Andrew Kirsch, a former intelligence officer with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) appeared on a number of Canadian television and radio shows to respond to the first report from the Independent Special Rapporteur David Johnston on election interference. The report can be found here.
This report was a response to a series of government leaks that offered a never before public look into intelligence collection and sharing on the Government of the People’s Republic of China’s attempts to interfere in the 2019 and 2021 Federal Elections. Previous post on the leaks can be found here and here.
- On Tuesday May 23rd Andrew Kirsch appeared on the CBC for instant reaction to the report:
- On Wednesday morning May 24th he returned the Shayne Ganam show on 630 CHED in Edmonton
- On Wednesday afternoon May 24th Andrew joined the John Oakley show on AM640
- And Thursday May 25th Andrew Kirsch spoke with Greg Brady on Toronto Today
Theme of these conversations – surprise and disappointment. Andrew explained that foreign interference is a significant threat to our democracy and economic security as well as diaspora community safety. He called for a full public inquiry to begin to restore trust in our democracy as well as the organizations mandated to protect it.
