I Was Never Here: My True Canadian Spy Story of Coffees, Code Names, and Covert Operations in the Age of Terrorism: Great Insider Insight from Someone Who has Been There! Excellent read. There’s very little information available about the actual day to day operations of a CSIS Intelligence Officer, so this book is almost ground breaking. The author was careful not to give away any National Secrets but was able to capture many of the day to day challenges of identifying targets that are a High Risk to our country and then the tons of work and preparation for comprehensive surveillance operations. I also found the comments about their internal oversight and the efforts made to recruit informants very interesting as well. Great read for all Canadians.

I Was Never Here: My True Canadian Spy Story of Coffees, Code Names, and Covert Operations in the Age of Terrorism: Great insight into Canadian Intellegence As an avid consumer of US-based intelligence fiction and non-fiction, I found this a compelling and readable memoir of a Canadian’s experience. The author’s storytelling captures the reader and the move from administrative work to the “action” makes this hard to put down. Highly recommend!

I purchased this book on Kindle because it was written by someone I had met and had family connections. (my niece's husband's brother) Although I had only encountered Andrew twice at large family gatherings, I was excited to have met a real spy, and who is also an author. I am an avid novel reader, and read little nonfiction. I was very pleased that Andrew is an excellent writer and story teller. I am also very grateful for the work he and others did and are doing to keep the world safe. Reading this book will benefit you by increasing your understanding of this important service. You will also find the book entertaining. Thank you, Andrew, for writing and publishing this, and for your continuing work.
